Book jacket design
When designing this book jacket for an assignment in 2018, I kept in mind the running theme throughout the book, which is the way that Mr. Dawkins views science - as something that can be awe-inspiring as well as factual.
It is said that 'the eyes are the windows to the soul', and my cover concept illustrates that idea, letting potential readers know that the book provides unique insight into Mr. Dawkins' worldview. Because of Mr. Dawkins somewhat religious view of science, I chose a bright shade of yellow that brings to mind heavenly things like stars in space.
The back cover is illustrated with small icons which depict subjects talked about in the book itself, giving potential readers an idea of what is contained within if they don't have time to spend reading the synopsis.
Overall, this is one of my favorite projects I've done, and I'm proud of the way I was able to design an attractive and cohesive jacket that speaks to what is contained within its pages.
